Sea House is a 3D reinterpretation based on an original concept by 2D artist Alina Bykova, focused on translating the light and magical atmosphere of the illustration into a rich and stylized diorama.
The entire project was developed in Blender, covering modeling, painting, scene assembly, and lighting. The integrated workflow ensured strong control over silhouette, depth, and visual readability.
The main technical challenge involved creating fully hand-painted textures, avoiding realistic or procedural materials. This required careful control of light, color, and depth directly within the painted surfaces.
The color palette was deliberately selected to preserve the cozy and whimsical tone of the original artwork, while lighting was crafted to enhance volume and guide viewer focus throughout the composition.
This project highlights expertise in stylized environments, hand-painted texturing, art direction, and adapting 2D concepts into 3D space.
