In the series As Five, I worked as a 3D artist and VFX artist on scenes that required precise integration between visual effects, storytelling, and audiovisual language. My contribution focused primarily on the creation of a lasagna scene featuring psychedelic smoke, as well as a fully 3D final sequence of a van driving along a road toward an almost-fork intersection.
In the lasagna scene, the technical challenge was to represent two distinct points of view within the same moment: while the daughter visualizes stylized psychedelic smoke, filled with subjective interpretation, the mother sees only realistic and natural smoke. To achieve this, I developed different simulations and visual treatments, balancing volumetric effects, look development, and compositing so that both versions could coexist seamlessly within the narrative.
For the final sequence, I was responsible for building a full 3D environment, including modeling, lighting, and rendering of the road and the moving van. The goal was to ensure a strong cinematic atmosphere and a sense of visual continuity that would guide the audience toward the near-fork moment. The integration of digital environments, 3D rendering, and dramatic language was essential to deliver a scene that supported the story’s closing with visual impact and aesthetic coherence.
