Retratos is a 3D animated short film developed for an internal competition at SAGA school, exclusively for instructors. The challenge was to create an original, technically refined, and visually compelling animation. The project won first place, earning the team a trip to Hollywood.
I was responsible for the full 3D character creation process, from initial digital sculpting to final LookDev. My work included modeling, retopology, UV mapping, and rigging, ensuring characters were cohesive, expressive, and animation-ready.
The production pipeline involved industry-standard tools. Autodesk Maya was used for modeling and rigging. Substance Painter supported detailed texturing. Rendering was handled with Arnold and Redshift, delivering a cinematic visual result.
The project’s strength lay in the balance between technical execution and narrative cohesion. Continuous team collaboration enhanced both aesthetic quality and emotional impact.
Participating in Retratos marked an important professional milestone, strengthening my expertise in 3D character design and collaborative animation workflows.
