In the film Overhaul (Carga Máxima), I worked on the development of 3D trucks, including hard surface modeling, look development, animation, and the implementation of visual effects for high-intensity action sequences.
I was responsible for creating the truck assets, ensuring structural accuracy, consistent scale, and realistic on-screen behavior. The process involved detailed modeling, development of materials and shaders, texturing, and precise lighting adjustments for seamless integration with live-action footage.
Beyond visual development, I handled the technical animation of the vehicles, considering weight, suspension behavior, dynamics, and ground interaction. I also developed specific effects, such as tire smoke during hard braking and drifting, applying simulations and compositing treatments to enhance realism and intensity.
The integration of CGI, VFX, and live-action required careful attention to tracking, physical dynamics, and consistent light, shadow, and reflections, ensuring the digital trucks blended organically within high-speed sequences.
